OTHS Community Awards
Osgoode Township High School is fortunate to have a community that supports our graduating students who are moving on to post secondary education. We have quite a few Community Awards available.
Each year teachers and staff nominate students to be considered for some of these awards, however, if you have participated in clubs, sports, community service or other school spirit activities and feel that you may be a good candidate for an award, please consider submitting your name and a short paragraph outlining how you contributed to OTHS during your four years in high school.
Your submission will be considered by the Community Awards Selection Committee in June.

Local Scholarships
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 589
The Royal Canadian Legion is committed to supporting Veterans and their families and offers financial assistance for post-secondary education.
Eligibility:
A child or grandchild of a military member/Ordinary Member, Life Member, Associate Member or Ladies Auxiliary Member of the Royal Canadian Legion; Step children and step grandchildren may be considered.
Applications must be received by Friday, 6 May,2022

Greely Players Performing Arts Bursary

The award winner will be selected by the Metcalfe Agricultural Society Board of Directors.
Essays are due to the OTHS Guidance Office by May 31st, 2022.
The award winner will receive $250.00
Sobeys SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Sobeys & Empire Scholarship Program awards an average of forty $1,500 scholarships to deserving student employees across Canada each year.
To apply for a scholarship, use the online Program Application Form and tell us about yourself. We’ll also need some paperwork confirming school enrollment and your most recent transcript. Submissions are accepted March 22nd to May30th, followed by interviews, with awards given in the summer.
PRBC BURSARY
Each year, the Prescott Russell Basketball Club awards bursaries in the name of the ROCKETS Basketball.

Gordon Clarke Bursary:
1. One bursary to be awarded nationally per year – if there are no qualified applicants in a given year, the bursary will not be awarded for that year;
2. The applicant must be enrolled or accepted to a post-secondary institution (i.e. university, college or polytechnical institute) in the field of public safety prior to the scholarship being awarded;
3. The applicant must write an essay of not less than 1000 words explaining how they have shown exceptional leadership, compassion and support for their community;
4. Applicants cannot be the children of any National Police Federation salaried employee. This does not include children of Local Area Representatives (LAR’s).
5. Bursaries will be reviewed and awarded by a selection committee consisting of Directors and staff of the Benevolent Foundation.
6. Those applying must complete and submit their application by mail or email Application Form.
NPFBF Award:
2 Regional Bursaries - $2,500
The NPFBF will provide financial assistance to post-secondary students through twelve bursaries annually in the amount of $2,500 each. Students attending post-secondary studies and meeting the criteria below will be eligible.
Criteria for NPFBF Bursaries:
1. Three bursaries per Region. If there are no qualified applicants in a Region in any specific year, then no bursary will be awarded for that year.
2. The applicant must be enrolled or accepted to a post-secondary institution (ie, university, college or polytechnical institute) in the field of public safety prior to the bursary being awarded;
3. The applicant must live in the Region from which they are applying;
4. The applicant must write an essay of between 750 and 1000 words explaining how they made their community a better place in which to live. The applicant must demonstrate their involvement in extra-curricular activities, such as sports, music, dance, volunteerism, and how they have shown leadership in these areas to improve their community.
5. Applicants cannot be the children of any National Police Federation salaried employee.
6. Bursaries will be reviewed and awarded by a selection committee consisting of Directors and staff of the Benevolent Foundation.
7. Those applying must complete and submit their application by mail or email the Benevolent Foundation bursary application form and attach their essay.

Ontario First Generation Bursary
Purpose
The Ontario First Generation Bursary is for postsecondary students whose parents have never attended postsecondary studies. It’s for students with financial need attending a publicly-assisted college or university in Ontario only.
How much can I get
The amount of bursary available varies. It ranges from $1,000 to $3,500. The actual amount awarded is determined by your school. Contact your school’s financial aid office for details.
Who is eligible
You may be eligible if you meet all of these eligibility requirements:
You’re attending a publicly-assisted college or university in Ontario
Your parent(s) have never participated in postsecondary studies anywhere in the world on either a full or part-time basis.
You’re enrolled in a first-entry undergraduate program. Second entry programs (e.g., law or medicine) and graduate programs are not eligible.
You don’t already have a postsecondary degree, diploma or certificate.
You’re not receiving assistance through the Second Career program.
You meet the citizenship and Ontario residency requirements listed in the OSAP Application for Full-Time Students.
You’ve met the financial need criteria defined by your school for this bursary.
Check with your school as they may have additional eligibility requirements in addition to those listed above. For example, some schools require that you be in full-time studies.
You don’t have to apply for either OSAP for Full-Time Students or OSAP for Part-Time Students to be considered for this bursary.
How to apply
If you applied for either OSAP for Full-Time Students or OSAP for Part-Time Students, you must submit this application separately to be considered for the bursary.
Use your school’s Ontario First Generation Bursary application. The application will outline what supporting documents (if any) are required.
