OTHS x IBMSpace - ENDURANCE Project - 2 years later

In May 2022, Osgoode Township High School had the privilege of collaborating on a groundbreaking project with IBM Space. Led by Master Inventor and CTO Naeem Altaf, the initiative involved launching a small CubeSat into space via a Falcon X mission (generously supported by SpaceX).
Project Goal: The mission aimed to deploy a satellite in Low Earth Orbit, enabling students to upload code using an Edge computing model. Student Contributions: Over the past two years, students from 5 different schools diligently sent up code developed in computer science classes across North America that allowed the CubeSat to capture hundreds of high-quality images. Each image required a day’s work to retrieve and download. Interview with Naeem: In an exclusive interview, Osgoode Township High School students and I (Marc Dubeau, the teacher) spoke with Naeem about the project’s success.
